Tractor Outdoor installs first-ever real-time drought analytics on their Cape Town digital network

Released by AUX Studio in January, TapOff is a free mobile app that not only provides Capetonians with real-time updates on the city’s water consumption, but inspires them to make positive changes that will have a lasting impact.

The app goes even further to encourage participation, gamifying water-saving with suburb leaderboards where residents can display their consumption figures. With water levels dropping it has become imperative to continue motivating Capetonians to save water on a daily basis. This is why Tractor Outdoor decided to partner with AUX Studio to get the message out there as widely as possible.

“We are committed to raising awareness around the devastating drought which is currently crippling the Western Cape. Trevor and Roy at AUX Studio have built an incredible app which updates itself real-time from the City of Cape Town’s drought data, and we have optimised our digital screens so that as and when this information is updated it is fed instantaneously across our network, ensuring that Cape Town’s residents are kept up to date with all the relevant information pertaining to the current crisis we find ourselves in,” says Simon Wall, managing director at Tractor Outdoor.

TapOff’s public API feature allows the digital screens to make a clear emotional connection with Capetonians about the current overall water consumption, putting the city’s progress quite literally front and centre serving as a constant reminder to keep up with our water-saving efforts.

Tractor Outdoor expands on their LOOP digital network

Tractor Outdoor is pleased to announce that they have added a third digital screen into the LOOP Network.

Consumers are being drawn to spend more money on digital campaigns, especially now that digital is making an extreme impact on the OOH market. South Africa’s OOH advertising market will reach an estimated total value of R5.1bn by 2019, with DOOH generating approximately R1.7bn of this amount, according to PWC’s OOH upcoming predictions research. With the addition of a third digital site to the LOOP network this has grown Tractor’s portfolio significantly.

“The new site is located in Somerset West. It targets Somerset Mall, Strand Beach, Strand Golf Club and the local area at large. Our development team is hard at work filtering through existing and new structures in order to further add to this network. We are extremely excited to see what the next few months are going to reveal,” says Ben Harris, rights and development director at Tractor Outdoor.

Tractor Outdoor sponsors Reach For A Dream Foundation

Tractor Outdoor has partnered with the Reach For A Dream Foundation to assist its Aircraft Raffle campaign by contributing billboard space to promote the initiative.

The campaign aim is to give people the opportunity to make a difference while helping children’s dreams come true, by raffling a brand new Jabiru aircraft and a pilot’s licence. The proceeds will go to Reach For A Dream who fulfil the dreams of children between the ages of 3 and 18 who are fighting life-threatening illnesses. “It was decided that this would be a perfect fit to make use of our CSI budget to provide billboard space to Reach For A Dream in order to help make a difference in children’s lives today” says Bruce Jefferies, Eastern Cape Director for Tractor Outdoor.

The billboard is located on Mount Road, in Port Elizabeth and can be seen by the public until the 1st December when the draw will be taking place live on Facebook.
