Alliance Media a BIG winner at the MOST awards 2018

The South African Media Awards, (MOST Awards) celebrated its 10thyear this year and with their decade of hard work, comes the event’s stripes in solidifying the event as the Media Industry’s respected benchmark of excellence.

Alliance Media won first place in two categories; Best Out Of Home (OOH) Media Owner in South Africaand Best Media Owner in Africa.

The Out Of Home category is the biggest category at the awards; this year there were 25 Out Of Home companies competing for the MOST Awards title of Best Out Of Home Media Owner.

Sandra Gordon, founder of the MOST Awards wrote the following about Alliance Media winning the Best Out Of Home Media Owner award.

The Alliance Media team was rated especially higher against the criterion “Sales Service Delivery”. One voter explained: “Alliance Media provides us with the best value and service in the business.” Another said: “Alliance Media is a strong and innovative OOH company and has an incredibly passionate team which is evident in their work.” A third added: “Alliance Media has great people who are concerned about their clients’ brands and they keep up with the ever-changing environment. Tractor Outdoor welcomes Lizelle McConnell to the team!

Tractor Outdoor recently appointed Lizelle McConnell to join their sales team in their Joburg branch.

“With over six years’ experience in the OOH industry and having an extensive sales background, we are extremely excited to have someone with such passion and proactive personality as part of our team. Lizelle has built great relationships during her time in the media field and has strong experience in working with clients from a broad spectrum of industries. Lizelle is an experienced sales and media executive specialising in digital, airport advertising and media planning across different sectors including banking and FMCG. She was previously employed at Provantage Media group as the Regional Sales Manager and her experience includes servicing some of the biggest media agencies and clients across Johannesburg and Cape Town, with some of the largest portfolios being Omnicom Media Group and The Media Shop.

Trudi Lovegrove joins Mall Ads as Agency Accounts Manager

Mall Ads™ is pleased to announce that Trudi Lovegrove has joined the team as Agency Accounts Manager. This portfolio is in addition to Lovegrove’s Street Network portfolio where she has excelled over the past 24 months.

Lovegrove is a seasoned executive professional who has held a number of senior corporate positions in her 30-year career. Lovegrove brings with her a keen sense of business, out of home media expertise and a unique understanding of various industries and their marketing requirements. She has held various sales and executive positions for the likes of Xerox, PSG, Workforce and Muller & Associates.

In 2009, Lovegrove held the position of National Director SA for ADRAP Advertising Technologies under the SMADA Group of companies where she sat on the group’s exco. She is accredited for initiating and growing street furniture contracts in Mbombela Municipality, together with several private landlord advertising contracts during her tenure with the company.

Lovegrove has received a number of prestigious accolades including Best Entrepreneur in the Eastern Cape by Business Partners in 2007 and Top Achieving Director for growth and profit out of 14 regions for 2 years in succession during her tenure at PSG.

Bonga Sibisi appointed Broll Account Manager for Mall Ads

Bonga Sibisi has been appointed Mall Ads™ Account Manager for the Broll portfolio, managing the NON-GLA Broll team across the country. Sibisi comes with a strong agency background, having cut his teeth in brand consulting, corporate communications and entrepreneurial ventures. These skills were honed during his time at Intergroup Brand Consulting, PR Worx and Blue Moon Corporate Communications, where he also gained a wide understanding of various industries, brands, products and insights into consumer purchasing psychology.

Sibisi brings his strategic brand consulting experience and advertising know-how to Mall Ads™, two areas of expertise that are critical for understanding how best to position brand and messaging to ensure that a campaign moves shoppers from prospect to purchase.

Part of Sibisi’s role is to ensure that the teams on the ground meet targets. His is also responsible for building and maintaining solid relationships with stakeholders.

Tractor Outdoor welcomes Nour Raad back to the team!

Tractor Outdoor is pleased to announce the return of Nour Raad to their Cape Town branch.

“With over eight years’ experience in the OOH sector and having worked for Tractor previously, we are extremely proud to have someone like Nour back at Tractor. We know that he will contribute tremendously to the development team, especially when considering what is in the pipeline,” says Ben Harris, Rights and Development Director at Tractor Outdoor.

Nour was employed as Western Cape Sales Manager at Havaianas for the last two years. Prior to that he gained significant OOH experience from his time as a Development Executive at Primedia.

He has built great relationships over his time in the media field and has comprehensive experience in working with property owners, landlords and councils. His overall thorough knowledge of OOH and development will be vital to the team going forward and he will fit right in with the Tractor family

Relativ excited to announce Katja Wellen as Sales Account Manager

Relativ Media is proud to announce that Katja Wellen has joined the team and will be taking on the role of Sales Account Manager. Katja will be responsible for managing a large portfolio of national and multinational brands, growing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and providing strategic sales solutions within the Relativ Media Group.

Born for the media industry, Katja is a passion fuelled, self-proclaimed fashionista, positivity ambassador and Pringle lover. I’m looking forward to the journey ahead.”

Dave Roberts to lead the OOH businesses for Primedia

Effective from 1 February 2018, the Primedia Unlimited business cluster will report to Dave Roberts, current CEO for Primedia Outdoor and Primedia Outdoor Africa.

Dave will be responsible for the integration and executive management of the Primedia OOH businesses. The new reporting lines of the Primedia Unlimited businesses is part of the roll-out of Primedia’s strategy to position the group as a strong media and advertising business focused on Broadcasting and Out of Home advertising.

As a chartered accountant by profession, Dave has a proven track record in the out of home industry with over 20 years of experience. Since his appointment as CEO for Primedia Outdoor, he has successfully led unsurpassed business growth and stakeholder value.

Commenting on the new business reporting lines, Dave said, “Considering how the out of home sector is growing and evolving in the current landscape, the consolidation of our OOH businesses will continue to enhance our media capabilities. The integration between Primedia Outdoor and Primedia Unlimited will see the company gearing up for a future forward growth strategy”.

Trish Guilford gears up for a new role at OMC

With over 25 years of experience and involvement in the media industry, Trish Guilford has recently been named as the new General Manager of the Out of Home Measurement Council (OMC).

For the last three years, Trish has been consulting and freelancing in addition to being in a partnership with VML South Africa – developing their integrated media offering. She has worked on numerous key clients focusing on writing strategies and implementation over the years, and has been considerably involved in the industry having formerly been a lecturer at both the AAA School of Advertising and Boston Media House. She is a member of the Advertising Media Forum and has previously served on the AMASA (Advertising Media Association of South Africa) committee.

“Out of Home advertising is an exciting industry and I am looking forward to driving the OOH currency to improve accountability and measurability of OOH formats. After so many years in the media industry, I believe that this opportunity will allow me to give back to an industry which has been good to me for over two decades”, Trish said.

In essence, the OMC produces comprehensive research covering the key OOH areas through its valuable Roadside Outdoor Audience Data (ROAD). Explaining the significance of this research, Trish added, “With the current industry research changes, we have a golden opportunity to position OOH as a media type that has robust research and the OOH industry can now be accountable for the impact that the medium brings to a campaign”.

Dave Roberts, the CEO of Primedia Outdoor, strongly gave Trish a vote of confidence, “We look forward to embarking on this journey with Trish in revolutionalising the OOH industry over the coming years and she will undoubtedly play a key role in advising both media owners and media agencies to formulate solid arguments for OOH opportunities to clients”.

 

Barry Sayer renewed as non-executive Chairman of JCDecaux

Barry Sayer has been renewed as non-executive Chairman and Director of the Board of JCDecaux Sub Saharan Africa, effective from 1 February 2017.
